An introduction to the study of museum education and curatorship, focusing on historical development of art institutions and society discussions.
Haftalık konular (14 hafta)
- Who is a Curator? What is a Curatorial Exhibition? An introduction to the role of the curator and the question of how ideas, artworks, artists and audiences come together to create an exhibition.
- The Curator as Mediator; Understanding how curators connect artists, artworks, institutions and audiences.
- Exhibition Concepts and Themes; Learning how curators develop a strong concept, narrative and thematic framework for an exhibition.

- As part of this week’s activities, students will curate an exhibition featuring original artworks created by students in FA 213 Introduction to Printmaking (sections1,2,3) in response to the theme ‘LÖSEV: The Name of Miracles and Hope.’ FA 467 students will review and select works produced through different printmaking techniques and approaches, develop the exhibition concept and layout, organize the installation of the selected works at FADA Gallery, and prepare the curatorial text for the exhibition. The exhibition will take place during the first week of November. Trough this collaborative project, students will engage with artistic production, curatorial practice, and social responsibility, exploring the role of art and exhibition.

- Guest Curator: Curating in Practice; A guest curator visits the class to discuss their professional practice, curatorial experiences, exhibition making process and challenges in the field.

- AI, Labor and Power; Who performs the invisible labor behind AI? How is technological power produced and in whose hands? How do artists participate in these systems while simultaneously making them visible and subjecting them to critique?
- Developing a Curatorial Project; Students develop and present their own exhibition concept, including its theme, artists, artworks and spatial approach.
