FA 212 ders içeriği
Research on visual elements; form-color, structure, volume and composition. Relations between light, color and sight. Developing the skill of design, compositional capacity through working on certain projects. (non-FA majors only).
Haftalık konular (14 hafta)
- Introduction to painting, tools and techniques. Dear Students We are reusing materials in this studio! 1. Palettes – please don’t buy/bring any new palettes. Use the wooden board available in the studio and paint the surface with the wall paint (find them in the buckets in the studio). 2. Water containers – buy/bring any plastic containers to use them for water. We have plenty of glass jars around the sink waiting for you. 3. Canvases – you can use old canvases 70x50 cm. You can get old canvases, remove uneven textures by sanding (zimpara) and prime using the wall paint. 4. Paper bins – there are paper bins in the class. Please remember about selecting the waste and put used papers to the paper bin, not to the other one.

- Analysing still life in comparison to great examples from the Art History.

- Set up colour arrangement of objects with hard edges and very high contrasts - all to be transformed from a nature onto canvas
- Analysing soft and hard edges, warm and cool colours, still and vibrating surface, low and high contrast - all to be transformed from a nature onto canvas
- Set up a simple monochrome arrangement of a metal can or two on a neutral background. Use objects that do not have a lot of value contrast. Try to set things up so that edges of one object disappear against an object behind.

- Students will continue with their individual projects. During the course of remaining weeks, at least one new concept or technique will be presented each week with demos and exercises given as appropriate.
