FA 211 ders içeriği
Building basic technical skills. Experiments with the use of paint. Conceptual and practical experiments on color mixing. Examining the creative processes through these experiments. (non-FA majors only).
Haftalık konular (14 hafta)
- Introduction to painting, tools and techniques. Additional Information: Buying painting supply, papers and canvases.
- * Beginners: introduction to the colour wheel, color theory, basics of history of painting. * Continuing students: reminding painting foundations, still life assignment.
- * Beginners: priming papers, experiments with paints, different value and temperature of colours. Mixing colours, diversity of textures according to the changing tools and adding different mediums. * Continuing: still life - follow-up
- * Beginners: different textures, lines, shades and shadows to be shown by using paints. Expressing contrasting emotions, using different techniques: glaze, textures, impasto, dry brush and knife, smooth blend/gradient of colors. * Continuing students: still life - follow-up
- Introducing proportions. Analysing still life as 3D construction to be turn into 2D composition.

- Set up a simple monochrome arrangement of a metal can or two on a neutral background. Use objects that do not have a lot of value contrast. Try to set things up so that edges of one object disappear against an object behind. Additional Information: follow-up
